Emotional Freedom

Excess fat is often more about feelings than food, and for many of us the two are inextricably linked. EFT is effective, easy and it works fast.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) for Weight Loss

If you are an emotional eater the chances are that you will sabotage your own efforts as the emotional pull to eat is just too strong to ignore.  EFT targets the emotional triggers that lead us to crave certain foods and comfort eat.  These emotions are triggered by daily stress, issues from the past, a family history of obesity, limiting beliefs about your own ability to lose weight and sometimes fear of the future.

We are having incredible weight loss results with our EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) phone consultations with Carey Mann, especially for yo-yo / serial dieters.

Why EFT can work for you

We are all born with an empty suitcase (our unconscious mind) but during our childhood we start to fill it with anything negative or upsetting that people might say or do to us - this could be teachers, friends, family or anyone - it’s all in there even if we can’t consciously remember it. As time goes on the negative load in the suitcase becomes heavier and heavier and of course we carry on dragging it around. It can eventually destroy our confidence in ourselves and hold us back from achieving our goals.

The good news is that by using EFT you can simply and easily clear away these emotional triggers and start again with a clean slate. Your subconscious mind is the 'only' thing coming between you and the body you would like to have.

Any of these strike a chord?

  • When I feel anxious I eat too much
  • When I’ve done something difficult I feel like I deserve a reward and so I eat
  • When I feel uncomfortable in a social situation I eat all the wrong things and too many of them
  • When I feel sad or lonely I comfort myself with food
  • When I feel tense for an unknown reason I have a strong urge to eat

If we eat when we aren’t hungry it is due to an emotional trigger.  We aren’t normally aware what the trigger is but something makes us feel tense and we want to eat. In fact we can often eat and not realise until afterwards what has happened. This kind of ‘mindless’ eating keeps us overweight and on the diet treadmill.

EFT is growing in popularity and is now used by thousands of doctors, psychologists and therapists worldwide.

How does it work?

EFT is a simple and painless form of acupressure, which involves tapping with your fingertips on key points of the face, upper body and hands. You are literally tapping into your energy meridians. In fact it is often described as acupuncture for the emotions (but without the needles). The creative use of positive statements enables you to focus during the tapping treatment on removing the emotional blocks that are driving you to comfort eat.

One of the main benefits is that results are immediate and a one hour phone consultation may well be all you need to change your eating behaviour.

EFT is without doubt the most exciting energy therapy breakthrough in recent times. Since EFT was founded in the US, it has spread rapidly and is now being used in the UK by NHS psychologists and psychotherapists.

EFT is proving very effective for weight loss and also:

  • Stopping smoking
  • Overcoming fears and phobias
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Cravings
  • Addictions
  • Pain relief
… and more.

So at last help is at hand if you turn to food as an emotional crutch. The ‘tapping’ bit sounds very strange and we were very skeptical ourselves that something so simple could work – until we tried it!

Ever wondered why you overeat when you feel stressed, upset, lonely, bored or nervous in a social situation?

We often overeat at these times and it's never the broccoli or carrot sticks we reach for! Oh no, it's always the chocolate, cake, biscuits, sweets, junk food, takeaways, pizza - everything that we know is not good for us in fact!

For most of us the roots of this behaviour stem from childhood and it helps to explain why so many of us end up yo-yo dieting without really understanding why.

Did your Mum or Dad give you sugary sweets or chocolate as a child as a reward for being good? Was a takeaway a family treat to get excited about? As silly as it may seem we are still at any age reaching out for the perceived comforts of home, of wanting our Mums or Dads, of wanting to be in a safe, secure environment. We want to go back to a time when we didn't have a care in the world or any responsibilities.

On the other side of the coin emotional eating can also be due to a trigger that reminds us of a past traumatic event, a bad experience, perhaps a friend, family member or teacher said or did something negative that has stayed with us ever since (sometimes this can be the cause of our overeating but we don't even associate the two things together.) These emotional triggers have the power to sabotage our healthy eating and dieting efforts time and time again. Our perceived need for comfort when we are subconsciously reminded of a negative past experience is a very strong pull and makes food cravings impossible to resist.

The good news is that you can now have an incredibly effective (often life changing) hour long EFT session with one of our trained practitioners over the phone.  Our expert team includes EFT practitioner Carey Mann who specialises in EFT for weight loss and also uses it for other issues.

Carey is available for your one hour EFT phone consultations. Drop us an email , Carey will give you a call.  You can then pay for and book a session directly with Carey, and arrange a convenient time for your phone consultation. Between one and three sessions are recommended, although most people experience significant change after just one session. You may choose to learn the technique yourself with our Easy Introduction to EFT (you will need to be logged in to access this).

EFT will change your behaviour around food and fast.
