Ursula James

Clinical and Medical Hypnotherapist

team_member Ursula is a highly qualified and experienced Clinical and Medical Hypnotherapist. She uses her skills to help patients to lose weight, stop smoking and tackle phobias and obsessive compulsive disorders and to work through relationship issues. Her approach is highly motivational, and her clients include some familiar names, particularly in the sporting arena.

She is also the resident Hypnosis expert on This Morning treating phobias using hypnosis, has appeared on Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4 and been interviewed for many newspapers and magazines. She now has her own TV series 'Sex, Lies and Hypnosis' on Channel 5, where she uses her therapeutic techniques to help couples understand their relationships with themselves and their partners.

Born in Sheffield, Ursula travelled widely before settling in London where she then studied for her degree at the University of London. She always offered a sympathetic ear to peoples' problems and helped them to work through solutions so, to put her natural abilities in this area to more formal use, she trained as a Hypnotherapist.

Ursula is a Visiting Teaching Fellow at Oxford University Medical School and a patron of the National Phobics Society. She is also honorary lecturer at St George's Medical School, London and with her team, lectures at eleven UK medical schools including Oxford and Cambridge.

Ursula is a member of a number of professional organisations, and as well as teaching clinical hypnosis at the medical schools, she also teaches modules in personal development skills (including stress management and goal setting), and a unique course in communication skills for medical practitioners.

Ursula has written some great books, and you can find all on her Amazon page.
